“My name is Rocky, and I’m a pharmacist. Born and raised in Montreal, I’ve always done well in school, but I have to admit it took me a while to discover what truly inspired me. My academic journey led me to explore a wide range of fields — arts, metrology (don’t ask (laughs!)), sciences, microbiology, immunology, psychology, agriculture, environment, animal science, biotechnology… until I finally found my true calling: pharmacy.
Being a pharmacist isn’t just about dispensing medication. As an accessible healthcare professional, my role is rewarding because I become a key resource for patients, helping them navigate our often-complex healthcare system.
Surprisingly, I’ve never had a strong affinity for medications! That’s why, in my practice, I focus on promoting healthy lifestyle habits. And if treatment is necessary, I make sure it’s used properly, with the right dosage and minimal side effects.
What motivates me most in a GMF setting is the clinical aspect and the interdisciplinary collaboration. I’m fortunate to work alongside exceptional colleagues, and together, we share a common goal: improving public health, one step at a time.
But what resonates with me most in my profession are those moments when a patient takes the time to thank me. Whether it’s for managing a complex case or simply guiding them to the right resource, a smile and a heartfelt ‘thank you’ are enough to give true meaning to my work.”
